JCB Triumph Hurdle Trophy Replica
A stunning full size replica of the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trophy produced for a winning owner of this prestigious race which runs on the fourth and final day of The Cheltenham Festival. To make a replica of this kind, requires a great deal of skill and craftmanship as it goes through a series of processes; first a rubber mould is made of the whole trophy, then tooling is made to spin the foot and body taking around 10 hours. The fluting and embossed finish is achieved by hand chasing, a hammering of the metal, which took close to 50 hours to complete. Once the chasing is finished all the component parts including the handles and grape castings are soldered to the cup. The piece was then sent to the assay office for hallmarking before being sand buffed and polished to a high finish ready for the hand engraved details. The plinth featured the historic winning owners & horses going back to 1965 including the likes of Persian War, Zarkandar and Tiger Roll with the race title and winning connections engraved on the body of the cup. One final polish before being fitted to the plinth then wrapped in the Inkerman gift box and sent to the recipient.
A truly beautiful trophy standing 33cms tall by 27cms wide with immaculate detailing and craftsmanship.
