Horse Racing Events 2020: Inkerman appointed trophy supplier
Inkerman is proud to provide all the trophies and awards for some of the most famous horse racing events in 2020.
Inkerman is delighted to be heading into the year as main trophy supplier for three of the most prestigious British horse racing events of 2020; Cheltenham Festival, The Grand National and The Derby.
The year begins with The Cheltenham Festival, the unmissable jump racing event of the year. Our team head to Cheltenham and move into a house near the course where we base ourselves for the four days. At the racecourse we host the trophy room, decked out in Inkerman red. It’s the trophy room which takes centre stage in showcasing over 70 trophies for owners, trainers and jockeys throughout the Festival. The room is a hive of activity during the four days and is run like a military operation. The trophies are carried to the Winners Enclosure and put on display ready for the presentation to the Owner, Trainer and Jockey; each trophy is then either collected by the winner or taken back to the Trophy Room to be collected later that day. Between races the next trophies are packed up and walked to the Winners Enclosure … and it continues for each race on each day.
Three weeks later and it’s The Grand National in early April, viewed by a staggering 600 million people around the world. One of the most famous and unpredictable races of the year. Inkerman are now in our 12th year of providing over 80 trophies for owners, trainers and jockeys. Mark and his team run the Trophy Marquee with precision ensuring the trophies reach the winners enclosure on time for each race. Engraving of the perpetual trophies takes place after each race prior to presentation by a ‘hand’ engraver based on the course - a precise and remarkably skilled job. Harriet covers all social media; capturing all those moments you might otherwise not see which are then shared with our valued followers.
The last of the three horse racing events is the greatest flat race in the world, The Investec Derby taking place in June - the supreme test of the racehorse and the wardrobe! Inkerman supply trophies for 11 races for owners, trainers and jockeys along with trophies for the two feature races, The Coronation Cup and The Oaks.

Each bespoke trophy is designed and customised individually to suit every race and sponsor. As well as working with the racecourse management we work very closely with their race sponsors, agencies and brand teams to come up with unique and beautifully made sporting trophies, whether they be silver, metal or glass trophies.
